Section 1 - Weekly Update

As we advance towards Christmas, things seem to be slowing down a little in the world of small business acquisition. Numerous negotiations remain ongoing and I think are likely to stretch to the new year now.

Interesting week though with fascinating conversations with some of our contributors this week including Phil Spencer from London DE and Michael Stewart who is helping business leaders become the hunter and not the hunted with his FREE webinar.

This is the cornerstone of my income—a strategy that truly shines in the right locale.

Serviced accommodation involves leasing your property on a short-term basis, typically by the night or week, to guests seeking a home-like experience. Essentially operating a business akin to a hotel but with added flexibility and personalization, you can provide amenities such as cleaning, laundry, self-catering, and concierge services, each incurring additional charges.

Investing in serviced accommodation is a dynamic and captivating venture, tapping into the burgeoning market of leisure and business travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and value beyond traditional hotels. Capitalizing on the popularity of online platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com facilitates marketing and managing your properties. However, securing permission from the landlord and, if applicable, the mortgage lender to rent the property on a short-term basis is essential. Compliance with legal and tax considerations, including planning permission, licensing, insurance, VAT, is also crucial.

Serviced accommodation proves highly profitable when strategically located in areas with high demand and low short-term accommodation supply. Adding value through furnishings, improvements, or additional services can enhance the properties. Consider exploring multiple flats in a block, typically one or two bedrooms.

According to some sources, serviced accommodation can yield an average net profit ranging from £1,000 to £2,000 per month per property, dependent on location, size, and property occupancy rate.
